Mushroom Swiss Burger
Yield: 4 Burgers
Ingredients
- 1lb of ground beef
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- Meat Church Holy Gospel Seasoning
- Crimini Mushrooms (you can use any kind)
- Brioche Bun
- Salted Butter
Instructions
- In a bowl combine ground beef, egg, panko breadcrumbs, and seasoning. Mix and combine
- Form 4 4oz balls with the meat mixture (You can for sure make these into patties ahead of time, this is just what I did)
- Thinly slice your mushrooms if not already sliced
- In a pan or griddle heated to medium heat add the butter until melted and slightly bubbly
- Add the mushrooms and cook until slightly brown and sautéd
- Remove mushrooms and place in bowl for later
- Add the meat balls or patties to the pan or griddle and smash using a spatula or burger press
- Cook until the your preferred likeness (medium rare)
- Reduce to low heat and add mushrooms on top of your patties
- Top with Swiss cheese and place a lid or steam dome on top with a slight drop of water for steam
- Once the cheese is melted, remove from the pan or griddle
- Add to bun and top with additional mushrooms
- Optional: Toast your buns in some butter on another pan or griddle
